Meet Our Brand New Nursery Role Play Area at Petite Street Play Village

A New Space for Imaginative Play

We're so excited to finally share our newest addition to Petite Street Play Village – our beautiful Nursery role play area!

After almost four years, we made the difficult decision to say goodbye to our Post Office role play area and create something that better reflects how our little visitors love to play.

We spend a lot of time observing how children explore the village, and over time we noticed that the Post Office simply wasn't being enjoyed as much as some of our other role play spaces. As a play village, we're always looking for ways to keep the experience fresh, engaging and inspiring for every family who visits.

The result is a calm, welcoming nursery where little ones can care for babies, use their imaginations and enjoy hours of nurturing role play.

Why Role Play Is So Important

Pretend play is much more than fun – it's an important part of children's development.

When children care for dolls and babies, they naturally develop:

• Communication and language skills

• Imagination and creativity

• Empathy and emotional understanding

• Confidence through independent play

• Fine motor skills as they dress, feed and care for the dolls

• Social skills through playing alongside others

Our new nursery encourages children to recreate familiar everyday experiences while inventing their own stories and adventures.

One of the most exciting parts of this project has been collaborating with The Kid Collective, a wonderful independent toy retailer who shares our passion for high-quality, open-ended play.

Their carefully selected dolls and accessories have helped us bring our vision to life, creating a space that's not only beautiful but also encourages meaningful, imaginative play.

We're incredibly grateful for their support and are so proud to have partnered with another small business that believes in the power of play.

A Favourite Already

The response since launching the nursery has been amazing.

We've loved watching children instantly settle into the space, caring for babies, pushing prams around the village and creating their own little family adventures.

Seeing little imaginations come to life is exactly why we created this new area, and we already have a feeling it's going to become one of the most-loved spaces in the village.
